Spring colors 2014

Every year, Pantone Color Institute decides what the colors of the following year will be, based on the spring-summer fashion collections presented in the fall and on many other studies and data analysis. After a careful analysis of New York's Fashion Week in September 2013, Pantone decided what the colors of spring 2013 will be.

We already know Radiant Orchid will be the Color of 2014, so it was no surprise this was one of the spring's colors. Other beautiful pastel colors that will be the center of attention this spring are: Violet Tulip, Freesia, Sand, Paloma, Hemlock, Cayenne and Celosia Orange. Placid Blue and Violet Tulip are both feminine colors that remind us of women's strength and confidence, combined with a playful, fun attitude. Caynne, on the other hand is a more powerful and mature color, creating an impact on the viewer. Spring wouldn't be the same without floral colors such as Celosia Orange and Freesia, both inspiring elegance, vitality and a certain French air.

However, there's one particular color that caught our eyes – Dazzling Blue. This deep blue shade looks incredibly similar to the Facebook blue that Mark Zuckerberg chose for the most popular social media platform. The reason Zuckerberg chose a similar shade for Facebook is quite simple and somehow funny: he is red-green colorblind and blue is the only color he can see properly, as it does not contain any shades of red or green. Without any connection to Facebook, Dazzling Blue is one of the most spectacular colors of spring 2014 that will definitely become a hit. Blue is usually a neutral color that looks great on anyone, without losing its personality.

The spring season of 2014 will be a beautiful fusion of pastel and bright colors, creating a perfect transposition of nature's lively spring colors into the ever creative fashion world.
